Jay Salmen - President
Mr. Salmen received his law degree from the University of Minnesota and has over 20 years of legal experience in debtor-creditor law, bankruptcy law, business litigation, and structuring financial institution loan transactions. Salmen joined Sun Country Airlines in 2002 where he served as President/CEO until 2006. In this role, he was instrumental in moving Sun Country through negotiations with secured lenders, creditors, unions and procured equity capital for commencement of operations for the parent entity of MN Airline, L.L.C.
In 2006, Salmen left Sun Country to become President of Petters Aviation to pursue opportunities related to the aviation industry. One of the relationships was with Airbus, and resulted in Petters Aviation partnering with Airbus to serve as the North America Sales and Service Center for Airbus Corporate Jets.
In March 2007, while remaining President of Petters Aviation, Salmen returned as CEO for Sun Country Airlines, where he has initiated new marketing programs, additions to their fleet, increases to their route schedule, and a frequent flyer program.
Susan Geitzenauer – Vice President
As Vice President, Ms. Geitzenauer is involved in the management and oversight of all operational divisions of Petters Aviation, as well as the pursuit and analysis of new investment and other aviation-related opportunities for the company.
Geitzenauer has worked in the aviation industry for over 13 years and has managed and closed over 400 commercial aircraft sale, lease and financing transactions. In 2005, Airfinance Journal, a leading international aviation publication, named Geitzenauer one of 15 “rising stars” in the international legal sector of the commercial aviation industry.
Prior to joining Petters Aviation, Geitzenauer was a member of the commercial aviation practice group at the law firm of Fafinski Mark & Johnson, and prior to that was a contract manager for International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) in Los Angeles.
