Petters Capital is a wholly owned captive finance subsidiary established to support the growing and sophisticated global financial activities and funding requirements of Petters Group Worldwide and its affiliates. Among other things, Petters Capital’s mandate includes: exercising stewardship responsibilities for the organization’s capital, operating as a vehicle to access the capital markets and interface with the financial community, executing liability management activities, supporting business development initiatives and managing investment and monetization strategies.
In its capacity as a captive finance company, Petters Capital will lend funds to PGW and its affiliates through the issuance of notes. In addition, it will provide advisory services related to structuring, negotiating and executing third party financing arrangements for these related entities. From time-to-time, Petters Capital may also purchase customer receivables, other short term structured debt securities and invest its liquidity with various financial institutions or purchase short or medium term third party securities. Petters Capital’s income is derived from advisory fees and from the earnings on its investment in the notes, purchased receivables and third party deposit instruments and securities.
Generally, their investment objectives include maximizing current income and preservation of capital while actively managing interest rate and refunding risks. Petters Capital is continuously looking for alternatives to diversify its capital procurement and has a longer term goal to engineer its liability management activities to have a presence in various markets. The Company has plans to raise funding through multiple borrowing and capital market arrangements.
